coloring and walking

Benjamin and Noah love (LOVE) Angry Birds Star Wars. I found some coloring pages for them the other day and they had a good time telling stories about the birds in the pictures!

The other day I brought my camera with me when I went to pick Benjamin up from school, since there is so much beauty I see every day. It has been cold here, but the sun has been out every day this week which is so amazing and such a blessing!!

These little plaques are in the ground all around the city. They each have the name of a person from Heidelberg who died in the Holocaust, and are set in the ground in front of the person's last residence.

We walk through this little tunnel every day, and I love that it looks like a face.

Noah's police visit

The police came to visit Noah's school. I think he liked wearing the hat. :)

house church

One of the things we are in charge of overseeing here in Moore Haus is the weekly Sunday night house church. It has been amazing! Every week we sing together and two of our students tell their story or something else they would like to share.

Florence

The final stop of our "tour of Italy" was Florence, which ended up being my favorite. The weather was wonderful and it was just a fantastic city. The faculty family for the Florence program are friends of ours, so we got to see them and had a wonderful time!

On the first day we went to the Galileo Science Museum.

Then we went to the Accademia di Belle Arti and loved the sculptures by Michelangelo.

On the second day, we walked to the Piazzale Michelangelo, which gave us the most beautiful view of the city.

 We looked at the Duomo.

The Leonardo da Vinci Museum was really interesting - they had built various machines based on his drawings, and you could play with them.

Outside of the cathedral was a living nativity scene, which was waiting for the wise men to come in their parade.

Venice

On the 4th, we left Rome and took a train to Venice. Unfortunately, it rained the entire time we were there, but we tried to make the most of it with a waterbus ride, and walk to St. Mark's Square.
